Introduction:

Dapoli is one of the most sought after destination in Konkan. It is also called the "Mini Mahabaleshwar" because of it's cool climate throughout the year. It was habituated as a military base by British army and later grown as an educational hub of the district. Situated at around 800 feet from sea level, it's a unique location and offers a hill-station experience surrounded by attractive beaches. Thousand year old ancient rock cut caves designed in a very intricate manner offer a pleasing site to the tourists.

Panhalekaji Caves/ Unhavare Hot Water Springs:
Ancient, rock cut caves believed to be more than a thousand years old are a treat to architecture lovers. Hindu and Buddhist sculptures cover the walls. These caves are located on the banks of the "Kotjai" river. Upstream this river, situated amidst a picturesque valley, you can bathe in natural hot springs. The water is believed to have medicinal value to cure some skin diseases.
