Introduction:

Situated about 50kms off Port Blair is the Havelock Island. The largest among all the islands in Ritchie's Archipelago. Havelock is a major tourist destination owing to its rich marine life, white sand beaches and dense evergreen forests. Havelock is a hilly island mostly covered by tropical rain forest but with a central lowland valley given over to cultivation and settlement. An inevitable and imperative part of these immaculate islands is the land of sparkling blue waters, and endless stretches of golden and silver sand on spectacular beaches, the ecstasy on earth - Havelock. Elephant beach is one of the unique beaches located in Havelock Island. The coral in this beach is simply the best on the island, easily accessible from Havelock Island, Elephant beach is the most famous spot for snorkeling. Majority of the dinghy operators of the island also conducts snorkeling trips to Elephant beach from Havelock Island.

Kalapathar Beach:
Kalapathar Beach is a worth visiting beach on the Island. This serene beach gets its name from the surrounding village, known as Kalapathar village and the black rocks embellishing the coastline. Unexplored and untouched, the beach is a great place to relax.

Radha Nagar Beach:
The beach is extremely gorgeous with its brilliant, pristine and blue water. Walking on the pristine sands along the shore, one can hear the sound of waves gently splashing against the beach. It is a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Besides, tourists can indulge swimming and snorkeling to experience the wonderful world of underwater.

You can shop for traditional island crafts in Havelock Island like shell jewellery, which include bracelets, earrings and necklaces, seashell souvenirs and multihued corals in different sizes. Also available are woodcraft like bowls, trays, walking sticks, coconut shell lamp shades, Nicobaree mats and bamboo cane craft.
