Nearest Airports: The nearest airport to Malvan is at Goa, Ratnagiri and Mumbai.
Main Railway Station: Best way to reach Malvan is by riding konkan railway starting from Mumbai, which will take you to Malvan in less time. There are many long distance trains which can take you to Malvan. Kudal Railway Station is the main railway station
Main Bus Station or Road: Malvan can be reached by busses of MSRTC and by many other tourist buses starting from Mumbai and Pune.

The staple diet of the people here is fish curry and rice. Kombdi Vade, Malvani fish curry, Mori Masala, Malvani Mutton Curry and Solkadhi are some of the food synonymous with Malvan.
It is known for its variety of mangoes (Malvani Hapus - Alphonso). It is also known for sweets such as Malvani Khaja (Made from Gram - besan flour and coated jaggery) and Malvani Ladoos.

Malvan Beach (Tarkarli beach):
It is an amazing long and narrow beach with crystal clear water. One can easily view the sea bed and marine life in the sea with your naked eyes.

Sindhudurg Fort:
 Just opposite to Malvan beach, Sindhudurg Fort is an ancient Fort built by The Great Maratha King Chatrapati Shivaji in 16 century. To reach this fort you have to go by ferryboat arranged at Malvan beach.

Adventure Sports at Malvan Beach:
Visiting Beaches without trying out the breath taking water sports is not a fair deal; hence, it is highly recommended for you to tryout adventurous beach sports such as, surfing, scuba diving, parasailing, etc.

Malvan Village:
To experience the Malvan culture it is recommended to visit villages surrounding the beaches. Malvani peoples are basically fishermen or into fishery business.

Malvan Marine Wildlife Sanctuary:
It is a Coral zone of Padamged island and other submerged rocks. The flora and fauna here pertain to sea anemones, mollusks, oysters, corals and seaweed is famous here to see.

Festivals:

Shimgyachi Holi: This is one of the conventional festivals in Malvan celebrated in March to April.
Makar Sankrant: This is a religious event of the month of January and is celebrated only by women. According to the custom of the event, women are dressed in gorgeous saris & ornaments. People go to their neighboring families and also provide invitation to other ladies for a special ceremony named "Haldi-Kunku". The festival takes place in the month of January.
