Rajasthan is easily accessible by air. Jaipur, the capital of the state, has the only international airport of the state. The other nearest international airport from Rajasthan is Delhi, at a distance of 260 km. There are a number of domestic airports in Rajasthan at Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Jaisalmer. However, Rajasthan has only three International flights landing at Jaipur from Dubai, Muscat, and Sharjah. But, the connectivity within the state through flights is well established.

Overnight trains from Delhi and Mumbai reach most of Rajasthan's major cities. For points further out, like Jaisalmer, you'll be looking at a second day on the train as well. The Shatabdi and Rajdhani express are excellent trains and have excellent service. Another option is Palace on Wheels which is a week long luxury train ride through Rajasthan. New Luxury train also started for Rajasthan Named Royal Rajsthan On Wheels is also a best option for travel by train.

The state of Rajasthan can boast of a well connected road network considering the connectivity of the state through several state highways and national highways. The national highways link Rajasthan with the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Though Mumbai may be too far away, this is the most popular way to travel to Jaipur from Delhi as the road is in excellent condition and the drive can easily be completed in under 4hrs.

**Jaipur - **Jaipur is mostly renowned for its majestic buildings, which displays unique architectural grandeur. These stunning facades of medieval India have received a global acclaim for its intricate and exquisite charm. A quaint place, Jaipur reproduces its magnificent past through its sumptuous forts, captivating palaces, littered walls, serene temples and lovely havellis. **Ajmer - **Ajmer, located in the Ajmer District of Rajasthan is the 5th largest city of the state, and is located at a distance of 135 km from the capital city of Jaipur. It was formerly known as Ajmere or Ajaymeru. The city is flanked by the Aravalli Ranges. One of the oldest hill forts of the country, Taragarh Fort, guards the city of Ajmer. The city was founded by Ajayraj Singh Chauhan in the late 7th century A.D., and was ruled by the Chauhan dynasty for several decades, with Prithviraj Chauhan being one of the most popular rulers. Today, Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for the Muslims as well as Hindus.

**Pushkar - **Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindus, situated 11 kms. to the North-West of Ajmer. The charm of this sleepy, lakeside settlement so captivated the great Indian poet, Kalidas,that it found a place in his classic, Abhigyan Sakuntalam. Pushkar boasts temples, though few are as ancient as you might expect at such an Sarovar and city wiew from top important pilgrimage site, since many were destroyed by Aurangzeb, a Mogul ruler and subsequently rebuilt. The most famous is the Brahma Temple, said to be the only temple in the world dedicated to this deity.

**Jodhpur - **Jodhpur is the second largest city in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan. Jodhpur is known as Sun City for the bright sunshine it enjoys throughout the year. But its more famous sobriquet is blue city; known so because of the bluish hue of uniformly whitewashed houses in the town. The city dominated by the massive Mehrangarh fort on a rocky hill is charming with its wealth of historic attractions and colourful markets which specializes in antiques. It is still one of the leading centers of wool, cattle, camels and salt. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many beautiful palaces, forts, and temples, apart from a stark, scenic desert landscape.

**Ranakpur - **Ranakpur is mainly famous for its Jain temples, which are all exquisitely carved structures. A view of these temples can be breathtaking when seen along with the background of endless desert sands. The huge complex is enclosed within walls, and houses Jain temples that are made of amber stone. Ranakpur is a town located in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This town is very popular among tourists and is also a major pilgrim destination in the state. The town of Ranakpur is quite cut off from other major destinations in Rajasthan.

**Udaipur - **Udaipur City is one of the most beautiful cities and known as 'Jewel of Mewar', is the administrative head quarters of Udaipur District in the state of Rajasthan, India.
