Srinagar City - Srinagar is the summer capital of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in the Kashmir Valley and lies on the banks of the Jhelum River. The city is famous for its Mughal gardens, lakes and houseboats. It is also known for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits.
Sonamarg - Also known as 'Meadow of Gold' is a beautiful flower-laden meadow in the majestic Himalayan mountain region. A town surrounded by breathtaking glaciers and serene lakes, located at a hefty altitude of 2,740 m above sea level. Sonamarg is the base camp for various trekking routes that lead to the Himalayan lakes of Vishansar, Krishansar, Gangabal and Gadsar Lake, stocked with Snow trout and Brown trout and Satsar, glacier-fed and surrounded by banks of alpine flowers. This is also an alternate route to Amarnath Yatra. Major attraction during the summer months is the Thajiwas Glacier.
Pahalgam - Pahalgam is a town located on the banks of river Lidder at an altitude of 7200 ft. from sea level. It is a famous hill station and popular tourist destination. The area holds a rich cover of vegetation and the dominant forest consisting of conifers. A number of treks in this region begin from Pahalgam, like the Kolahoi Glacier, situated up the Lidder Valley. The other important places are Betaab Valley and Aru valley noted for their scenic meadows, lakes and mountains. Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2,895 m), is the starting point of the yatra.
Gulmarg - Gulmarg is a Hill station and a very popular Skiing destination. It is easily accessible from Srinagar by a 02 hours drive by car or bus. It is also very famous because of its "Gulmarg Gondola," one of the highest cable cars in the world, reaching 3,979 meters. Besides that, Gulmarg has the highest green golf course in the world and outdoor sports.
