Getting There
By Air

The nearest airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, which is well-connected to major cities like Delhi, Jammu, Srinagar, and Chandigarh. From the airport, taxis are available for transfers to your destination in Leh or beyond. Due to high demand, it is advisable to book flights in advance, especially during peak tourist season (May–September).

By Rail

The closest railway station is Jammu Tawi, approximately 700 km from Ladakh. It is well connected to major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. From Jammu, travelers can either take a direct flight to Leh or opt for a road journey via taxi or bus, which takes around two days with an overnight stop in Srinagar or Manali, depending on the chosenroute.

By Road

Ladakh is accessible by two scenic highways:

Manali-Leh Highway (474 km) – Open from June to October, passing through Rohtang Pass, Baralacha La, and Tanglang La. Srinagar-Leh Highway (434 km) – Open from April to November, offering a journey through Zoji La Pass and Sonmarg.

Day 1
Arrival in Leh (4 km, 15 mins)

After a breathtaking aerial view of Ladakh’s glaciers, you arrive at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh, situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, located just 3-4 km away. The first day is reserved for acclimatization, as the sudden altitude change can be challenging.

Spend the afternoon at leisure, resting and hydrating to adjust to the high altitude. If you’re feeling well, a short excursion includes visits to:

  • Shanti Stupa, an iconic white-domed structure offering panoramic views of Leh.

This route, though rugged and adventurous, offers some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Ladakh, with towering mountains, winding river valleys, and vast barren landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see.

As you traverse the Shyok River route, you’ll encounter remote settlements, pristine streams, and ever-changing terrain, making this journey a visual delight. The road conditions can be challenging, with river crossings and unpaved sections, but the sheer beauty of the route makes it an unforgettable experience.

By afternoon, you will reach Pangong Lake, one of the most surreal destinations in Ladakh. Nestled at an altitude of 4,225 meters, this high-altitude lake stretches 134 km, with one-third in India and the rest extending into Tibet (China- administered region). The most captivating feature of Pangong is its ever- changing colors, shifting between deep blue, turquoise, and green depending on the time of day and the angle of sunlight.

Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La (140 km, ~5 hours)

Start your morning with a peaceful sunrise over Pangong Lake, as the changing light reflects off its crystal-clear waters. After breakfast, begin the drive back to Leh, passing through Chang La Pass (5,360m), one of the highest motorable roads in the world.

On the way, visit Thiksey Monastery, often called "Little Lhasa" due to its resemblance to Tibet’s Potala Palace. The monastery houses an impressive Maitreya Buddha statue and offers panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Continue to Shey Palace, the former summer retreat of Ladakh’s kings, where you can see a 12-meter-tall gilded Buddha statue and remnants of Ladakh’s royal heritage.
