The airport nearest to Gangtok is about 120 kilometres away in Bagdogra, West Bengal.

The nearest railway station to Gangtok is about 120 kilometres away in New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri. The station is well-connected to major cities.

State buses are operated by Sikkim National Transport. The buses start from Siliguri, besides there are plenty of pvt cars and taxi options for travellers.

• In standard and budget hotels no lifts are available.
• Basic personal items to be carried include, feather jacket & heavy woolens during winter and light woolens during summer, walking boots, rain proof jacket during monsoon, torch, spare batteries, water flask, cold cream, personal medicines & Sunglasses.

• From Date of booking - 30 days only communication charges of INR 2000 per person.
• 30 -15 Days prior to departure - 25% of tour cost.
• 14-07 Days prior to departure - 50% of tour cost.
• 07- 03 Days prior to departure - 75% of tour cost.
• 02 Days / No show - 100% of tour cost.

Standard Terms & Conditions:

• Packages are valid from 1st April 201 to 30th June 2017.
• Govt. Service tax @ 9% will be applicable on the total bill.
• 10% Advance to be paid and rest of the payment to be paid before arrival.
• Check-in 14:00 hrs / Check-out time is 12:00 hrs.
• Extra person rates will applicable for child above 10 yrs.
• Rates are valid for INDIAN NATIONALS only.

Extra Terms & Conditions Related to Hotel:

• Hot water will be supplied on time basis – morning & evening. 
• Room Heater available with an extra cost bourne by you directly. (Except for Premium, Luxury and Signature categories).
• Telephone / land line facilities may not be available in most hotels.
• Hotels are very strict with the child policy. Please carry the age proof so that it can be produced if asked by hotel.
• Extra adult in the room will be provided with an extra bed (wherever possible), but most of the hotels only provide extra mattress or roll out bed.
• In Darjeeling almost all the hotel do not have lift facility. Hence, if you have a problem of blood pressure, knee or other ailment for which you cannot climb the higher floors, you will have to intimate us during the time of booking so that we can arrange rooms at the lowest floor of the hotel enabling you to climb the minimum number of stairs possible.
• As per Govt norm Guests are required to present your photo ID Proof such as PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID or Driving License at the time of Check in at the hotel.
• If hotel mentioned is sold out or on wait listed status, then we will go for similar category of hotels in same city. However, we will try to the best of our ability to confirm the 1st best preferred hotel.

Extra Terms & Conditions Related to Transport, Vehicles & Sightseeing:

• If you arrive by train at NJP Railway Station, our local representative  will be there to receive you at the New Exit Gate (Near Escalator).
• If your arrival  is by flight at Bagdogra Airport, our local representative  will be there holding a Placard at Exit Gate on the Airport.
• Permit required for Tsomgo Lake. It is mandatory that you carry 02 copies of passport size photograph, original photo ID proof with photo copy (identity card – Voter ID card / Pass-port / Driving License / Aadhaar Card etc) for processing the permit. PAN Card is not acceptable for issuance of the Permit.
• In case you want any changes in the sightseeing schedule, we request you to inform our Holidaymine.com representative about it the previous day before 16:00 hrs, as after that if you make changes in he sightseeing schedule, it will be considered as a cancellation with no refund or you will have to pay extra cost for rescheduling the sightseeing.
• As there is shortage of space for car parking in the entire Sikkim & Darjeeling region, we request you to be at the Lobby in time for the vehicle to start their sightseeing / transfers.
• In case of excess baggage you will have to opt for an extra vehicle to accommodate your excess baggage and you will have to bare the extra expense of an extra vehicle. Hence we request you to travel with minimum baggage i.e. one baggage per person so that you can comfortably accommodate yourself and your baggage through the entire journey.
• 01 Non a/c Indica / Wagon R / Sumo / Max in all categories for 02-08 pax including child.
•  In case the number of heads increases, than the guest will have to take another vehicle with an additional cost.

Extra Terms & Conditions for Lachung & Lachen:

• All the packages start from Gangtok & end at Gangtok.
• Packages are available with all meals at hotel only (way meals Guests have to pay on their own).
• Hotels available are only with basic amenities & simple food cooked by the locals.
• In maximum hotels there is no geyser in the bathroom – hot water is supplied by buckets by the hotel.
• No room heating systems are provided in the room in maximum hotels due to shortage of power, instead the hotels provide hot water bags.
• You are advised to carry heavy woolens when traveling to Lachung / North Sikkim as this area is cold through out the year.
• Excursion to Katao & Zero point (Yumesamdong) is kept optional & subject to availability of permit, which the guest can avail with an extra cost payable directly to the driver. Approx cost INR 3,000 per vehicle for each point.
• As per Govt norm Guests are required to present your photo ID Proof such as PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID or Driving License at the time of Check in at the hotel.
• Supplementary charges will apply for booking falling during Long weekends, Public Holidays and Festival time such as Diwali, Christmas & New Year period.

Gangtok - Gangtok is a bustling, friendly hill station, and the capital of the Himalayan state of Sikkim. It is an organised and beautifully maintained city. Gangtok is known as the Switzerland of the east.

Lachen -  Lachen is alluring in its simplicity. The village comprises of less than 200 houses and is the gateway to the holy Guru Dongmar and Tso Lhamu lakes.

Lachung - Lachung is one of the most exquisite villages in the valleys of North Sikkim. Embraced by snow capped mountain peaks, breathtaking waterfalls and sparkling streams, it is famous for apples, peaches and apricots.

No holiday is complete without taking back souvenirs and there is plenty you can take back from Sikkim apart from memories of a great holiday! Shopping can be a real wholesome experience for the tourists visiting Sikkim.

Gangtok-The capital is a major shopping hub in this state. Shopping in Gangtok is all about buying masks, footwear, carpets, handicrafts and other trinkets in the souvenir shops strewn along Mahatma Gandhi Marg. The main shopping areas in Gangtok are the Old market, New market and Lal market. Also look out for the traditional items like thangkas or religious scrolls and choktsees or collapsible wooden tables with intricate local Tibetan designs.

Money- The currency of India is Indian Rupees (INR). The currency exchange departments are present in almost every Indian city. You can also exchange your currency in 5 star and 4 star hotels, no other currency is valid except for Indian currency (INR).

Best time to Visit- The weather in Sikkim is pleasing during the months of March and June when the flowers are in bloom, or between October and mid-December when clear views of the Himalayan peaks are guaranteed. July to September brings monsoon showers and occasionally heavy rains.

Travel Kit- Except for special occasions, dress is informal. Carry a warm sweater or jacket for mornings and evenings throughout winter and early springs. An umbrella offers the best protection from monsoon rains. In the winter an anorak is often quite useful to wear over a fleece or woolen layer.

Drugs- Heavy penalties including imprisonment for possession of narcotic drugs.

Temple Codes- The Sikkim culture is quite conservative. At the monasteries, women should avoid wearing shorts and skimpy tops; likewise, men should wear trousers and shirts at monasteries.

Smoking- Smoking is banned in public places.

Sikkim Festivals- The fairs and festivals in Sikkim are celebrated according to Buddhist calendar. During these festivals the people of Sikkim perform colorful dance and music. Religious festivals in Sikkim are famous for "mask dances" performed by lamas (monks) in the gompa (temple).Costumed lamas wearing gaily-painted masks, ceremonial swords and sparkling jewels leap and swing to the sound of resounding drums, trumpeting horns and religious chanting. Saga Dawa is a very auspicious day for the Mahayana Buddhists. On this day people go to monasteries to offer butter lamps and worship. Phang Lhabsol is a festival unique to Sikkim. It is celebrated to offer thanks to Mount Kanchendzonga, the guardian deity of Sikkim and to Yabdu, the supreme commander. Dasain the biggest and most important festival of the Hindu-Nepali population is celebrated in September - October. It symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Tyohar (Deepavali) the festival of lights is celebrated 10 days after Dasain.
